Dr. Steven R. Adams has been in private practice in Asheville, NC since 1983. He was born in Ohio and grew up in Asheville. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Biology from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. He received his Doctorate Degree from the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry in Chapel Hill in May of 1983.

Dr. Adams is very passionate about Dentistry and attends numerous continuing education classes on a yearly basis to provide you with the latest quality care available. He is a past board member and continues to volunteer at the Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry Clinic. It is important to him to give back to the community.

Dr. Adams and his wife Jeanie have three children, Lindsay, Brandon and Robert. His hobbies include camping, fly fishing, horseback riding, building and flying model airplanes.

Front Office Staff:

Linda Johnson
I was born and raised in Buncombe County. My husband, Sid, and I have been married for 45 years. We have two children and four grandsons. We traveled and enjoyed being a proud Navy family for 25 years before retiring and moving back to Asheville in 1991.

I have worked for Dr. and Mrs. Adams for 18 years, as one of their front desk staff. I am the office's Patient Care Coordinator, in charge of production and scheduling. It has been a very exciting 18 years, with all the changes in the dental field, as well as the high tech advantages our office has to offer its patients.

Erin Honeycutt
I graduated from A B Tech as a certified dental assistant in 2009, and was able to do most of my clinical rotations at Dr. Adams' office. My first career was in fiber design and I chose dentistry as a new career because I enjoy focusing on details. The dental field is exciting to be a part of, and it is very gratifying to participate in helping our patients achieve dental health.

I grew up in Western New York, but have been calling Western North Carolina home for 14 years. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, gardening, hiking, and doing sewing and weaving projects.

Hygienist:

Nina Fountain
I was born and raised in Eastern North Carolina. I joined the Navy after graduation. I spent 7 years in the Navy, as a dental technician. I met and married my husband of 37 while still in the Navy. After leaving the Navy, I had 3 children continued my education in Dental Hygiene at A B Tech. I have been working in the dental field for 41 years and for Dr. Adams for almost 17 years. I enjoy working in dentistry because I know I make a difference in our patients' dental health

In my spare time I like gardening, sewing and quilting.

Cheryll Allison
I graduated from A B Tech and have been practicing dental hygiene for 23 years. I am married and have one son in college. I live in Mars Hill and am a Native to the area. I am an active member of North Asheville Baptist Church. I am a sales representative for Mary Kay. I like to hike, fish, hunt and be outdoors. I have worked for Dr. Adams 4 years.

Elise Anders
I began my dental career in 2005 as a dental assistant. I earned my Dental Hygiene degree in May of 2009 from A B Tech. I really enjoy my dental career because of its diversity. I started working in Dr. Adams' office in August of 2009.

I was born and raised in Asheville. I enjoy traveling and being with my family and friends.

Kristin Bush
I am a registered dental assistant. I moved to North Carolina 5 years ago from California. I have worked at Dr. Adams' office for 5 years. I have been a dental assistant for 21 years.

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my horse and hiking with my dog.

Janelle DeJong
I've been living in Asheville for about 20 years. I'm an A B Tech graduate and I've been enjoying working as a dental assistant for Dr. Adams for about 5 years.

In my free time, I like to go hiking, mountain biking, camping and jogging. I also love to make jewelry, knit and cook.

My favorite things about dentistry are seeing the improvements people make in their smile, and meeting new people every day.

Jessica Winterbottom
I have 17 years experience as a registered dental assistant. I am originally from California. I moved to Asheville 8 years ago with my husband and daughter. I have worked for Dr. Adams 3 years.

Jeanie Adams
I am a native of North Carolina. I have lived in Asheville for the past 27 years. I work part time doing behind the scenes support work for our office. Dr. Adams and I have raised 3 children and have numerous animals. I enjoy relaxing with a good book, traveling and visiting my children as often as possible. We enjoy spending time in Charleston, SC.
